This female grizzly charged up the hill where we had parked taking photos. We made it back to the RV just in time. Mirror of the RV in the first image and blurred, probably due to shaking? Sow with three cubs. Much better images later from when she was down the hill. We are back in Jackson WY.

These Great Horned Owlets. From near Jackson, WY

Snow goose is trying to keep up with the big bird. (Sandhill Crane). Taken at Bosque del Apache, NM.

Another sandhill crane over the snowy mountains. Image from Bosque del Apache, NM.

Pretty darned cold and snow this morning. About 16 degrees with 20 MPH winds. We persevered though.

We did find more than a few elk in AR.

Photo of a soaring eagle I took recently

Trumpeter Swan
Took this photo near St. Louis, MO on a cold and windy December afternoon. These birds deserve the name Trumpeter as they make one heck of a lot of noise.

The brilliantly colored Northern Cardinal has the record for popularity as a state bird: in the United States, it holds that title in seven states, including Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.

The Eastern Bluebird is a familiar and welcomed tenant of birdhouses in suburban yards, parks, and golf courses. It is the state bird of Missouri and New York.
